Default HELP!!! Can't change crank shaft sensor

I really need you help. I have been unable to change the crank shaft sensor on my 92 bonne. We can not seem to figure out how to take of the pulley that is blocking it. We have a gear puller??(not sure if that is what you call it) That has some screws you thread in. This appears to be what we need accept the screws will not go in to take off the pulley. ANY help you guys can give would be great. Please let me know also if this is something that needs to be professionally done. I have called every shop in our city and none will install this $18 sensor for less than $250. Seems to be a easy job to change the actual sensor but has been a month trying to figure out how.

Thanks
Dawn

You do need a puller to get the balancer off. The bolts that you need are probably metric (from what I remember). Now, first you have to get the centre bolt out of the balancer (usually with an impact). The problem here is that the center bolt of the puller will wreck the inside of the threads for the balancer right? What I did was insert an 1 1/2" 3/8 extension into the balance hole for the bolt to press against and therefor protect the threads. From here you install the puller (with the metric bolts that fit) making sure that they are installed deep enough that they will not pull out. Now, with the impact (more difficult without but not impossible, simply tighten the puller and it will pull the balancer off. To reinstall you just impact the centre bolt back into the balancer and it will tighten itself up.
