Engine makes a metal type ping ??? only does it sometimes
 

sometimes when its been run for a while and you let it sit idiling you can hear a ting,ting,ting metal like sound like its coming from the exhaust shield or something. Its too tinney sounding to be a lifter and its not consistant either it comes and goes any ideas

When its doing it, get under the car and try to locate it. The ting ting ting could be the heat shield vibrating when warm. Get back to us.

it sounds like itscomming from the top side of the motor on the tranny side. if you rev it up a few ties its gone again ? Sounds like a metal ticking like filcking a screwdriver against tin but it skips a beat too ??

is the load levers pump in this area and would this make a tinney type noise

ELC pump should be in the trunk area.

Hummm Well ill keep thinking

You may find a loose exhaust heat shield ... that's my first guess.
