Anyone have any ideas to why the engine light would come on when I put the pedal down all the way. The car studders violently, hesitiates and doesnt want to move any where. I am assuming its a bad misfire because the engine light will blink while it is happening and then stays on after that until i shut off the car. If anyone has any ideas to whats going on please inform me before I start changing everything. I also do wonder if this is also related to my bad transmission.
Thanks
So many problems w/ this car, So little patience.

Well i tested the coils and they checked out ok. Tomorrow I will try to get to autozone to get them to check the code(*) for me. Next step i persume is to move on to the plugs and wires, both of which were changed this year but i guess they can still go bad.

Before buying wires. Look them over like NickS did recently. He found a hole was being worn into one of his by the fan.
Also... I see the NGK plugs, what kind of wires did you use?
The plug could have been cracked, however it is much more common for a wire to be breaking down. The way you described changing the coil and it running great for a while. Makes me think when you moved the wire it was better for a while, then reverted to it'* original position and started the problem again.
