Is it ok to drive? 92 Bonneville SE
I recently posted that I had a fuel smell and I after more serching I found a leaking O-ring on an injector. When I pulled the injectors out I noticed one of the plastic or ceramic pintal caps that directs the fuel spray into the intake manifold was cracked and fell apart in my hand. I have been unable to find an injector repair kit (just O-ring kit) locally so I ordered a repair kit for Boche type injectors from E-Bay. It comes with little fuel screen, two o-rings, plastic spacer washer and a pintal cap for each of the 6 injectors.
I put the new o-rings back on all injectors and injector rail back on car and started it up. All ok so far. Now the question. While awaiting a few days for my repair kits to arrive, I was wondering if if driving without one pintal cape could cause damage to a piston, manifold or valve etc. with around town driving? I plan to repair all the injectors at the same time. Car seems to run OK? Any thoughts welcome.

To clarify, The pintal cap did not fall into the piston, it fell apart in my hand after I had removed the injectors to change the O-rings.
