ELC Relay?

Can anyone tell me where the ELC relay is located? I'm guessing I need to replace it, the compressor works for the acc. switch in the trunk, but it doesn't level the rear end. So i'm guessing it's gotta be the relay for the ELC.

in the Maxifuse center under the hood

have you already ruled out the ELC height sensor on the A arm of the suspension??

sandrock 04-23-2007 06:31 AM

If that IS the case, it isn't the relay. If it kicks on with the switch, the relay is fine. I'm with Pat...take a gander at that height switch.

Agreed..if the pump is working the pump is getting power. The circuit powers the pump for air and lift functions.

I would further agree again and suggest running the ELC height sensor testing.

your compressor could be killing your height sensor also. the "dead" give away is if you plug another height sensor in and it works once, then never works again. (this is from personal experience with 3 sensors, yes it took me that long to figure it out.) the purge solenoid was shorting out the sensor causing high current flow. the replacement switches would work untill the system did a purge, then BAM, no more height sensor.

Any idea if the hieght sensor is a dealer item only and price. And is it the thing that looks like a lil' bone attached to rear passenger A-arm?

willwren 04-23-2007 09:54 AM

It's on the opposite end of the little bone from the right rear A-arm.

It's expensive from the dealer. Go to a wrecker. Or troubleshoot to the root cause.

Thnx for the info guys.

do a search for my write-up on this. grounding the white wire will envoke a purge, grounding the yellow wire will envoke a pump.
