Default 96 bonneville wont randomly starts

ok guys maybe yall can help me with this. My mom has a 96 with 194k it runs strong but it started cutting out and started getting hard to start after it had ran for a little while. Well i did a tune up on it ,plugs, wires, changed the fuel pump and filter also the iac well now it will start sometimes and run for a while then shut down and i noticed the fuel pump is not coming on when i turn the key over , but then sometines when i turn the key over you hear it come on and it runs fine for awhile. ive checked all the relays and there good also. i did notice it does not want to shift right when it is running. Ive sherched this for a few days and found some good stuff but not what i need. i dont understand why the fuel pump will come on one time then not the next!!! This thing is pissing me off i have an 9second cobra and i cant even fix my moms car lol. the only code it was showing was one for the gas cap. Any help would be helpfull!!

Check the car over for vacuum leaks, this can throw the code you mentioned as well as cause running problems. Check over the battery cables, both of them on both ends. Clean them up and make sure they are tight.

OK, does the pump turn on when you first turn the key, then shut off. Or does it not turn on at all?

If it'* turning on at all, even from time to time, the fuse it fine. That tells me the relay is flaky. One more thing, the title says 86 Bonnie, but your first message says 96. I assume this is a 96 we are talking about. If so, I can edit the title.

Check for any loose connections or corrosion. Somethings not letting the power threw.
