oops didn't know you shouldn't open your doors when doing the bong test, so i re read the manual and only pulled on the handles and it doesn't make the bong noise, so it has to do with my door handles? I need help thanks, "Interior lights stay on"

its a ground signal that activates the lights so you could have a bad switch or the wire shorted to ground somewhere

i dont have wiring diagrams right now but there are switches that tell the computer when the door is open, one of those could be stuck so it says its open all the time. id start with the drivers door since its used most often, if no switch is bad there is a wire that goes to all those and it may be chafed and touching ground some where

I did some more testing and found that even when i unplugged the power to both front doors so that the radio will stay on when u turn the key switch off, with the doors open, I closed both doors and the lights still stay on? and if u lift the door handles the interior lights don't come on until the door actually opens, aren't the lights supposed to come on before the door opens? Still need help

Not sure if i unplugged the right plug when i was in the front doors? but it made sense to me cause if the radio will play with the doors open and the key just being turned off i must have killed the main power to the door?

You should open the doors during the bong test. Key thing to keep in mind though is if you put a hip against the door and don't let it open, you'll keep the door ajar switch from actuating. You should hear a bong from the door handle switch.

95% of the time the issue is a bad drivers door handle switch. The purpose of the switch is to illuminate the car when you pull the handle and the door is locked. That'* it'* only purpose in life. When it goes bad, typically it shorts the circuit and causes the lights to stay on. Pulling the door panel and unhooking the switch at the door handle cures the issue.

which plug is it? When i was into the front doors yesterday i couldn't get the door panel all the way off, I removed door light and removed the screw that holds the pull handle for the door but their seems to be something else holding the pannel up higher towards the top? is their a hidden screw? and if i get the panel off is their a plug in at the door handle? I can access some wires at the handle when i take off the trim around it and have already unpluged them and still didn't fix light issue?

the mirror adjuster on the hand. Pry gently from the back to the front and it'll pop off, then there'* a bolt/big screw behind it. That shoudl get your panel off. Then look up at the exterieor handle and you'll see the two wires. I wanna say green/blk but double check...it'* been a while. Unhook it.. close the door and see fi they go out after 10 seconds.
