EGR codes: P0403 & P0404
 

P0403 Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Solenoid Control Circuit
P0404 Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Open Position Performance

What should I check/replace with these codes?

Check the connection to the EGR for corrosion. Also check for leaks on the EGR system. Remove EGR and check for open pintel.

Where do I find it? I have a good idea what it looks like.

The EGR valve is right behind the throttle body near the brake master cylinder.

Just like that the check engine light cleared. All I did was stare at it this morning.

Let us know when it comes back.

...and it's back this afternoon :( Maybe a tap with a large hammer will work.

Took it off, sprayed cleaner in it and it worked...for two days. Time to replace it.

Sounds about right.

Swapped EGR from No. 2 car. Error cleared.
