New to me 93 SSei... Got problems/questions
Hi, I've been the proud owner of a 1993 Pontiac Bonneville since Feb 2007. It'* a N/A Se model, no options.
Now, I've just put some money down on a 1993 bonneville ssei with every option except sunroof.
One problem is the seats. I'm 6'0 tall, and weighing in at just under 400lbs. The NA with cloth seats fit me to a "t", I could drive comfortably all day long. The SSei, sadly, doesnt let me fit in it. My gut is mashed against the wheel. Why would there be difference? Is the SSei motor/trans cradle bigger? It might just be the seat. Anyone heard of moving the seat attaching bolts back?
Also, the heater, which is the digital, doesnt work. Aside from fuses (Which check out fine, what else can I look for? Oh, the guy who owned it tried 3 different heater control modules, and they all never worked(They all came with the car too) It has a remote starter, could something have gone wrong with it? Also, would the struts from my SE model fit the SSei? (front srtuts) OK, one more: Radio volume button doesnt work. I will likely replace the radio with aftermarket, but will I lose the steering wheel controls? Can I put a different steering wheel in it, or does it have to have the airbag one? Thats it for now, I'm sure I will discover more when I get it home.

I assume you have the seat all the way back? If you need to I guess you could move the tracks back a bit. I've not heard of anyone doing this.
Some radios will work with the wheel controls
I wouldn't change the steering wheel, leave the air bag in place.
heater controls, have you checked to see if there'* a relay under the hood for that?

Yup ,seats are fully back, they are AL7'* I think, like 9 ways, and no matter how they are adjusted they dont fit my oversized load. Can the rails be moved, or do I have to make custom brackets? I don't know how to look for a relay under the hood for the heater. I was hoping someone might have a troubleshoot from the fsm for the heater controls.

OK, one more question: The car has 225/60/16'* all around. I have a perfect pair of 205/65/16'* just sitting here, can I put them on as fronts, and keep the rears the 225/60/16'*?

If you click on this link, Tire Size Calculator - tire & wheel plus sizing. (or paste it your browser) it will tell you the difference in diameter of the tire and also show the coresponding difference in speedometer reading. The factory size is the 225/60/16 which I believe is measured @ the front wheels. It would make the difference of 0.499% or .2mph at 60mph. Another thought on the seat issue, is the seat from the super the 9 way adjustable and adjusted in all ways, up, down, angled, air pressure removed?

Hi, thanks for the link, that will come in handy. My question was regarding the mix and match of sizing in tires. Can I run a 225/60/15 on the rear tires, while I run a 205/65/15 on the front.?
I haven't gotten the car delivered yet, so I will try all the different buttons for the seats, including deflating all air options etc, on Tuesday when I get the car.

as to the tires you can. it'* not advised but you can. also make sure to put the best tires on the rear not the front.
