Default WHY ME!!! @#$%^&%$&%(Trans problems)

My trans started whining on Sat afternoon and now it'* shifting harder and slipping a little too.

I went to Cottman'* Transmission and got it checked out for free. They said that its coming up with a "Wrong Gear Ratio" error which means its slipping and not getting the correct ratio signal... Thats why the harder shifts...

ANYWAYS... They said it would cost a min of $1200 for labor and the kit. Then add in any other parts they need to change out.

$1200 is what I make in a month after taxes! How am I supposed to not drive it and get to work so I could pay my bills and somehow scrape up the extra $$$ to fix the trans?
I just bought this thing in the beginning of June!

Family loan might work if I didn't already owe $500 to my mom from last year, getting a tranny for our Blazer.

Can't get a bank loan cause I don't have any extra cash after bills already.

Some shops can do payment plans. Try and see if they do that...

Just trying to help.

Go to the auto wrecker and take your chances on a used trani, then do the swap yourself. Good way to learn and save $$$

Yeah I was thinking about that.. Actually was looking online and found 4 trannys from the same place I got our Blazers tranny from for $220!

All trannys come with a 30day warrenty. It might take me that long just to put it in.

Well I went and did a filter and fluid change and put in about 3/4 of a bottle of Lucas Transmission fix..

Ran it for about 15-20 min and seems to be working alot better.. I doesn't slip in OD like it was before. WOOHOO

I hope it stays this way, I need to drive a 1000 miles(500 each way) in two weeks.

Just wanted to check, you know that the INTENSE PCM firms up the shifts now? Mine is firmer now.

Is it banging in gear? Maybe it'* the Pressure solenoid. IIRC, those are a known problem in the -65

I know that it firms the shifts but mine was slipping just a little. I could watch the RPMs go up about 500 inbetween the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts.

It'* alot harder then before and I think thats because of the PCM but I know the slipping isn't. It was banging pretty hard but now that I changed the fluid it'* not bad.
