Well, the scanner is a GOOD scanner, and the SES light came on too, so it is a legit code.

So long as the crank sensor lasts until the transmission swap, I don't care really ;)

Well, it appears the source for the FSM is wrong, also. So don't feel too bad.

Nope. Only other codes I pulled up were cruise control related.

Brad...There was only water in the system when you had the WP leaking gasket correct?

I'd sneak on under there, double check the connector to the sensor, then review all the wiring, looking for any rub marks or grounding wires. (also triple check that ICM connector ;) )

Something some may not be aware of: this is a fresh motor in the car. It was disassembled and reassembled in record time. This really brings possible wire issues, etc into play.

ICM has always been good...the one connector that gave us any shit was the firewall connector and only because it was not seated right. I'll check the sensor out on my days off to see if there are any rubbing issues with the wires and whatnot. Though I am wondering if there is a difference between crank sensors (we used the sensor on the new motor if memory serves) and it very well could have gotten smacked around during transit.

This code could also be a harbringer of a bad trans too, since this ONLY occured at WOT and the 1-2 shift was NOT happening even when PCM was commanding it to. This could possibly explain why the FSMs do not include this code or how to troubleshoot it.

Brad I found 2 meaning for a GM code 19

1) Crankshaft position circuit 88-91

2) Fuel pump circuit shorted

Now the question is which one is it?

By chance did you take the original crank sensor with you? Or is it still on the block?

It should still be on the old block. It "hiccuped" worse today when I went to Lowes, but then again I am really giving it the gun too. I am more apt to believe it's the pump than the sensor (which could also explain my 20ish KR number under boost). But again, I will have to wait on properly diagnosing this until the transmission is done up, because the slippage can be a huge part of this.

Fuel pressure test is fairly simple.

Don and I took preliminary pressure readings once the idle stabilized when we first got it started, and all was good. However, with all the circulation and additives I put in the tank, it may have loosened up debris and now the filter could be clogged. This weekend I am going to change that out and install a pressure tester to see if that helped it any.
