Hi, all. Once again I need help-a week ago i overheated my 98 bonny SE. I was forced to stop and let it cool enough to restart and then continue driving til I got home. Needless to say this was a very rough ride as the car would heat up to the point of stalling after a few minutes and then i had to repeat the process a couple of times to make it home. I drove the car into my driveway and parked it for the evening. The next day my car would not start. It would crank over like normal but would not even attempt to start. I was getting all kinds of engine codes flashing at me while driving it home but did not have the means to read them. The reason for the overheating was as we all know was the infamous UIM/LIM gasket failure. I had to replace both gaskets now anyway so the no start condition became a secondary issue as I simply thought that removing the battery cables to do the engine work would cause the computer to reset itself and I would be good to go once I put it all back together.
You guessed it !!-- still no start . It still doesnt even try to fire. I guess my question would be what are the overheating relatied issues that I should be looking at to get me running again.
I have had this car for 2 years and so far it has only cost me $50(crank position sensor)--by the way I used these forums to fix that issue also.

Read that entire article. I think you'll find it fits the symptoms perfectly. Let us know about your oil and coolant.

Pull the plugs and crank it over. Does coolant come out?

Yours may be far enough (if my assumptions are correct) to write the motor off.

hi, all-just got done swapping out the motor that
I wrecked from the intake failures. Everything went well and the 96 motor fit the 98 harness about 98 percent. The 2 percent is a trouble code " knock sensor voltage low-bank 2 " . Exact code is P0332D So i have a couple of quick questions,

1-does the sensor on the 96 differ from a 98(voltage or otherwise)
2-is bank 2 the rear of the motor
3-will swapping the 96 sensor for the 98 sensor fix it( I know-stupid question-try it and see obviously but I am renting a hoist at a local garage and it'* getting expensive)

Try swapping sensors. Both originals from your old motor.

Wrecker motors may have damage to the sensors as they're moved around. I would assume bank 2 is the rear, but someone with an FSM handy would need to verify that. Inspect your wiring harness to make sure you didn't pinch something during install.
