Do I HAVE to run 93 octane in my SSEi?

My neighbors had their 96 SSEi since it was new and ran nothing but 87 in it all that time. It'* now junk just because it has 198,000 on it and the original transmission finally let go. The engine still runs beautiful. It just can't move. lol.

Well, soon as this tank leaves that narrow end of the pipes I'll be dropping in the $30ish of premium and starting my own test.

I know the mods would seriously enhance the need for 91-93, and being stock...maybe I don't have as much need. But then...I'm usually willing to try almost anything. (I'll just pretend it'* my truck when the $$ start going up quick.)

Bill, I don't think you'll have complaints. I get 29-30 on the Highway with 92.
