Blower motor loosing speeds.....
There are four positions for the blower motor to run the AC. High speed went out, but the other three still work.
Until tonight, 3 is only blowing at half power, but 1 and 2 still work at the corect speed.
Switch, or relay?

If you have only four speeds for your fan speed then you must have the manual controls. HI speed is powered through a relay and is fused seperately. The other speeds (MED2, MED1 and LOW) run through a "blower motor resistor". Sounds like the problem is actually two smaller ones.

This is from my 93 manual:
Fuse 17 (25 amp) IP fuse block runs LO, MED1, MED2
Fuse 3 (30 amp) RH underhood fuse block runs blower motor relay HI speed
Blower motor relay is 3rd position under RH underhood fuse block.

Blower motor relay is 3rd position under RH underhood fuse block.

I was lucky enough to have low not put out anything (didnt have enough *ss to overcome the bearing friction), med1 chriped like I had a bird trapped in there, med2 was OK, and Hi shook like hell. I could tell someone else had already drilled the motor end and lubed it, then put a piece of tape over it.
I got a carquest blower motor (with the fan already attached.. yee ha.). R+R of the blower motor is a pain in the *ss. Remove the strut tower brace, then the lift brace that holds the fuel lines, 02 harness wires, and rear plug wires (using braille to find the 5/16 nuts that retain it). then the 5 or so 7mm screws for the blower. The lift brace has to move for the fan/motor assembly to come out. Then the little rubber hose was exposed to too much heat over too long and crumbled. The rubber mounting gasket for the motor had to be put over on the new one. With the new one on, all speeds are perfect. And Lo actually puts out something.
All in all, a job that on any normal rwd car (like my 78-88 g-body cars) takes 5 minutes - but on this one was nearly 45 minutes..
