Day Time Headlights or DRL disconnect
 

8) I found this to be pretty cool becouse when I bought my 2nd Bonnie it had these lights that I could not turn off during the day. My 95' SSE does not have DRL's so I could drive with my fog lights and parking lights at the same time and look cool 8) But when I got my 98' SSEi
I could not do that becouse it had those GM inspired Daytime running lights or DRL hooked up to the lights. So I bought a CD-rom service manual off the internet to help me with some problems and came across one day where the DRL resister was located. Its located inside of the driver front fender close to the front of the bumper area. Black with two wire connection, pig tail connector. Just unplug it. It will not srew up your Auto lights at nite. They still work as normal and you can drive around with your fog lights on only with out your head lights during the day. :P Any ways I thought I stumbled across greatness when I figured that out. -Toddster

Good info.. keep it coming. Many already have this done on their cars so they don't burn out premium bulbs quickly.

yea, i did that and i also independantly wired my high beams so i can have them on with the lows and fogs

the only bad thing with my light set up is I am running Silverstar 9005 highbeams for fog lights and they run a little hot so I have to turn them off if I get stuck in trafic so they don't meltdown or burn out. I got 9005 wiring from the walmart automotive section and wired it in to my factory 880 fog light system. Works like a charm. And is really really bright :twisted: I have goten alot of good complaments on how good it looks to. Good for nite driving to. :!:

oh yah, the 9005 light does not just fit into the factory 880 hole so you have to do a little custom fitting, but it is all wurth it in the end 8) I've had them in for about 8 months now and no problems -Toddster :D

i have 100W sylvania H3's in in aftermarket fog light mounts

Could've just went with 885 foglight bulbs.. 55W vs. 35W.. no rewiring or drilling :P

could of, but i like the color of silverstar 9005 high beams :) Befor putting in the silverstars i did try the 885 to and they where not much brighter than 880 i thought-Toddster

having the silverstar 9005 high beams as fog lights at nite is nice because its like almost daylight brite in front of the car. The reason I did this is because I drive in areas where there is alot of deer out at nite.-Toddster

there are a ton of members that have upgraded the fog lights with glass lenses
