damaged hoodliner, duct tape?
can ductape handle engine heat, or shud i just look for a new hoodliner?
|
Screwed up the hoodliner with your little fog machine prank didn't ya?
I'd say get another. If the tape comes loose and ends up on the motor...luck would probably land on exhaust and that could start a fire. |
|
actually it completely unrelated to the fog machine, which is going in someone elses car, this happen in my car awhile ago when the belt frayed and was hititng the hoodliner
|
A new one is cheap, but expensive to ship.

i was gonna get one with the SSE silkscreen out of the junkyard, but it pretty old and brittle, still in better shape than mine i guess tho, btw whats the best way to get those plastic things off? i usually work my hand under it with 2 finger son each side and pull forward but it always seems to mess up thos little gills or bend the disc

The dealership has a little tool. I made one with a couple wire hangars and an arc welder.
|
I use needlenosse pliers. One jaw under each side, and a putty knife or a piece of plastic under the tips so they don't dig into the liner. Then just pry them off. Pop right out. It helps to squirt some WD-40 back in there first to help the little teeth slip through without damage.

there's a tool for it. Called a body and trim panel tool.... it does the same thing as everybody is saying..except it's even easier. $5
