Default My first week with my 97 SSEi

Well I just got through my first week driving my Bonny since I parked my 95 Vision TSI to extra car status. Here are my thoughts so far:

It takes off from a standstill only a bit faster than my TSI but from a roll at just about any speed its impresseds me. (TSI has 214 horses and 220 lbs torque 0 to 60 in like 7.5 or so) I can't wait for each opportunity to pass somebody or just generally get a large opening on the commute home.

It handles abot a third as good as my TSI in every situation. Reminds me a bit of my 94 Chevrolet Corsica I crashed last year. Still trying to figure this out.

I can actually watch the gas guage drop each way on my commute. In process of measuring the mileage.

Heads up display needs the radio stations.

I like the build quality so far. Doors and hood feel substantial. I like the interior versus the current generation. Seems like current generation interior is diminished or maybe its just me. Seat control buttons look cool but rarely used. Feels like a cockpit at night.

Crappy stock stereo.

Seats fit like a glove but why no heated option? Even my wifes minivan has heated seats.

Performance/touring shift doesn't do squat. Very evident in my friends LS 400 Lexus.

Don't get me started on the CCR!

I follow people further back so I don't crash it in stop and go traffic and I get pissed every time a burst of sand hits it in the construction zone on 494.

Think thats it for now.

Well, glad u put it through its paces. The bonne is a nice car, kinda sleeperish in many aspects. My GTP however looks sporty so people expect a race, all the time, and most of the time i dont go for that, especially after the tranny, didnt they do heated seat option in the newer models, my car has the heated driver seat... I do still love the bonne and hope to one day have a 2000+ SSEi. The supercharger is nice, and with the 3800 SII it is an easy engine to mod out and make alot more horsepower some easy ones are CAI, and changing out some other stuff, changing the super charger pulley and stuff, all was done to my car because i got my car already modded. CCR is an option that went out on almost all bonnies that had it, and yes, the radio option is very nice on the HUD. Both the SSEi and the GTP are nice cars, ive driven both and i plan on getting one in a couple of years when i get it paid down some, you'll learn to love the SSEi cause they are super safe and really dependable!!!
