Hi everyone..I just purchased a 95 Bonneville that needed a new flywheel..FUN FUN for my hubby..LOL He is working on her as we speak! Anway It did not come with the keyless remote..I purchased one off of ebay and I need to know how to program it ourselves...I look in your techinfo section, but I think that some of that is missing because it tells you to cross 4 and (there is not another number here)...Would someone please email me and tell me how to do this....Thanks so much!! Look in Tech Info for a link to your owners manual. Directions should be there...

I typed "bonneville program instructions" in google and found it for my
96 Bonneville. I don't think its the same procedure for yours.
But many others were listed.

Instead of going to a dealership to reprogram your car to work with new
keyless entry remote ( and them charging you 50 bucks up for it ). Decided
to do a write up to help people save money for more important things like
Mods, beer, or something nice for their wife when they did something wrong.
This will work from 95 up with OBD II ( 95 for sure ). It'* relatively
simple, all you need is a 3" wire stripped at both ends to do this, along
with your new keyless entry remote. All you have to do is jump pin 4 and
together to set the car up to allow the frequency and pulse of the new
remote. You will know that you've jumped the right pins in your OBD II
connector when you hear/see all the door lock and unlock, keep ther jumper
in, and press any button on your new transmitter and your old ( if you have
an older and or other existing transmitter ) while the jumper is in. Simply
then disconnect the jumper and test it.. voila.. and it'll work.


Lookin at the connector head on from the driver seat.. the bold letter are
the ones you need to jump

i have a 94 and this is what i used. the 93 programming would not work but this did. try it and hope it works for ya!!! Best if large paperclip is used(my own experience)

I would wait till I can confirm it later tonight/ tomorrow morning.. the last thing you need to do is short out something that'* not suppose to.

I will wait...I haven't gotten the remote in the mail yet...I was just wanting to get the instructions so that when it gets here, I will have them..I will defiantely wait for you to confirm the numbers...Thanks

Hi and welcome!!!

This is what i did to program my 95 Bonnie SE when i had her...

To reprogram your keyless entry system for a new key fob:
1) Turn ignition to OFF.
2) Ground pin 1 of the Data Link Connector (black 16-pin connector under dash driver'* side). Pin 4 of this connector is a ground, so placing a jumper wire between pins 1 & 4 will accomplish this. Grounding pin 1 tells the system you are getting ready to reprogram it.
3) Close all the doors.
4) Turn the key to ACC, then back to OFF. The power locks will lock/unlock. The system is now ready to be programmed.
5) Press a button on your key fob.
6) If you have two key fobs, press a button on the second fob within 1 minute of pressing a button on the first one. Both must be programmed at the same time. If you only have one remote, press a button on it 2 more times to signal that you only have one.
7) The doors will lock/unlock to signal that the codes were received.
Remove the connection between pins 1 & 4.


I found that the power locks locked and unlocked immediately upon jumping pin 1 to pin 4. The system was ready to be programmed. steps 3 & 4 were unnecessary.

my instructions say to use a 5 amp fused jumper wire.
This will not allow any harm done to the computer.
I made one up with a paper clip and fuse. It worked great.
