courtesy lights and keyless trunk

Got a problem. #1, when I open my door, none of my lights come on. Door lights, map lights, nothing. #2, my keyless trunk doesn't work. The button on the door doesn't even work. They both died at the same time. I checked the fuses, and none are blown. I don't know what's wrong with it. Help!?

Fuse 3 in the relay center supports both the interior lamp relay and RAC module in a 93.

Please include your year and trim level for further diagnosis

I'll try and remember. I checked #3, I checked all of them. None of the fuses are blown. I even made sure all the wires were hooked up right.

you do know that the car has to be running and or in park for the trunk button to work??

BCM=body control module

[puts on Swami hat to guess at year and trim level again]

You checked Fuse 3 in the passenger's side fuse box???
Depending on the year, you may have a valet switch for the trunk release.

No, in the drivers side fuse box. And yes, I know the car has to be running and in park for the door button to work, but not the remote. Guess I'll check in the passenger side her 'fore long.

swami...see user name for info

I found that usernames are sometimes a poor way to determine that info. I hate to assume but in this case I guess it's accurate. Or that could mean a 93 Grand Am SE.

I almost bought a 93 Grand Am SE, but I liked the bonnie better. I found out not long ago, though, that it's actually an SLE.
