For the cost of getting a remanned, you could have the current engine rebuilt with a slight performance boost to boot. I've learned a great deal doing alot of this work myself (I am going through doing a total overhaul on my engine). Do some research for reputable rebuilders in your area...I was quoted a grand for a rebuild on my longblock, BUT I wanted near total control on what goes into this rebuild, which is why I am doing about half of the work myself. The other half is pretty much the shop RnRn' the engine for me.

Thanx for the info!!!!
What type of performance mod'* can I add when I have it rebuilt?
My symptoms are as follows.
After oil change when I start my car up the engine will knock maybe 2 times. After that I will never hear the knock again untill the next oil change.
Also while in park when i rev it up to about 3000 rpm I can hear a slight metal scrap.
These problems have just started happening in the last 2 months.
In pre post I was told to switch to 15w-40 for the summer months.
Can I get a second opinion on this?

If you are looking for more opinions..I'd suggest revitalizing your other thread. The title and beginning of this one lead more toward people saying a reman can be bought at most parts stores.

However...I'd be very inclined to back up the opinion Jr'* gave you. He'* got lots of time and knowledge on these things.
