Odd surging problem in OD
This isn't a huge problem at all, but it'* enough to bother me.
When my car kicks into overdrive and I'm a little heavy on the petal the motor surges at little bit. I'm talking a 100-150 rpm surge...it will go up 100rpm, come back down, go back up in about half second intervals. When I let off the gas a little bit (keeping it in OD) it stops. Any ideas? It'* not urgent I fix this, just an annoying quirk my car has.
Thanks!

sounds like a tranny slip,
I don't know a lot of the trans in these newer cars, but the clutch pack that puts the car in OD is possibly burnt.
Has the fluid in the trans been getting darker faster than normal?
BUT, do check all other possibilities first before taking to to trans shop.
They will need to tear the whole thing down to inspect the trans, and you know what that means? Wallet rape time.

I would not say tranny just yet.
Check for possible ignition problems, have you replaced all the wires in plugs? checked the coils cold and hot resistance?

Haven't done any checks as of yet. The tranny is due for a flush, but I was searching and this seems to be a very common problem with 4t60e'*. I know elmachogeracho has the same problem as me. I'm going to replace plugs and wires soon, as well as clean my TB, upper intake and tranny flush.
I work at a GM dealer part time so I can get stuff for chhhhhheaaaaap

If it is trans related, see my recent thread on it. So far, mine is cured. And when mine occurred, it was very noticeable, and very annoying. I didn't think a cooler and some Lubegard Red would make as big of a difference as it did. Had I not found out about the TSB (thanks!), I'd still be chasing an ignition problem, because that sure is what it felt like.

Most of the time these issues are ignition/vacuum related.
Check it out, ensure the plugs/wires are good, all vacuum tubing is connected and in good condition. When the upper intake is done, ensure the TB is pulled and cleaned. You could pull your MAF and clean that now as a preliminary step.

Hook a scantool to the car and see if you have any tranny slip codes...
Also monitor the tranny temps, and the TCC apply percentages... At 100% apply the slip should be minimal...
