Default computer option?

I have been sitting around with no money. The last quote was $275 for the harness but I don't have that kinda money right now. My uncle has the 88 buick lesabre with a 3800 in it.
my question is can I use the computer and harness from that? I know the injectors are bigger on my engine and it won't handle boost. I was thinking I could use a mini afc and a boost controller.)probably custom made boost controller)
The engine I have is a 3800 series1 */c out of a 94 bonne with 13K miles on it.

will the memcal I have for it fit in the buick computer? I haven't check to see what the computer looks like in the buick.

I want to hear the engine run!!!

We need some more information here. What year and model do you have? What part exactly do you need? What'* wrong, and what are the specific symptoms?

Without knowing all this, we're stuck.

Add your year and model, and any mods you have to your signature in your profile.

Well I bought the 3800 */ced with tranny with 13K miles it was out of a 1994 bonneville SSEI that was totaled. I bought it for about $100. the thing had already been taken out of the car. the harness was cut so I tried to fix it but no luck. I can't find any cars around here with the harness for that engine. I'm wanting to put it in my 93 grand prix(3.1L).
having a perfectly good motor with no way to start it is killing me.
I need the complete harness and computer.

thanks

You'll need an ECU from that Bonneville too btw! The chip or EPROM will have to be custom burned too if you wish to use that engine in that GP. Any 3800 harness should work, as long as it is a SC version. other than this, you will require alot more work to do to get that engine running in that GP. This is of course if you can get an actual transaxle too to mate with that 3800 SC too. To use the Trans in the GP will cause it to explode after a very short while due to the extra stress & greater torque the SC'd 3800 puts out.

I'm also doing a RWD conversion(I know it'* alot of work but I have the tools and the will) so the transmission isn't a problem.
I have a computer Ihave to figure out if it'* the one for the car though. It was taken out of the car and wasn't marked. there were three computers there that looked the same so If it'* not the one I can exchange it for another until I get the right computer.
but I can't find a harness for cheaper than $275.

Try www.car-part.com
Good luck and keep us updated. Sounds like a tedious task, but when done (GOD willing) you will reap the benefits.

RWD conversion? Manual or Auto?

You need a wiring harness and PCM/ECU from a 94/95 SSEi or SSE (SC). Nothing else will do.

Right now I'm going to go with a manual. manuals seem less hassle.
I"m hoping to make it kindof a sleeper. imagine everyones face at the drag strip when you spin the rear tires on what they thought was a FWD.

The Chip (EPROM) inside is what makes the REAL difference as most ECU outer cases were all the same.

If you're doing a RWD conversion, talk to Ty (Speedyguy) of Domestic Performance. He'* got EVERYTHING you'll ever need including Software & Trans Hump adapters.
