Wow, you have some wicked rust under your bonnie. Maybe you should have all you lines replaced to be safe.

uuummm you sure its proportioning valve? cuz i said screw it cuz i need the car for wor tomarow and there was no way to remove the line from it, so my dad and cut thesection of the rusted bad line out and flared the ends and stuff and put it back together.

If it was a proportioning valve then it wasn't doing anything cuz i got up to 35-40 and slamed on the brakes and it stoped straight....

HHhhmmmm Did i just screw my brakes up???? or sense its stops fine i should be ok????

Bandit
Please do not throw that part away see if you can blow through it.

I just don’t understand why GM put a proportioning valve to just the right rear brake.

I have one on each side. Mine are getting pretty bad. I wanted to spray it down with anti rust penetrant, but then it might soften the rust up and with my luck would blow.

Bandit, I would replace that part just to avoid any future problems you may have.

yes they are proportioning valves. they are on both rear brake lines. yes you need them.

I have 2 in my tool box. But they are about 30 bucks to buy new.

That is right where my brake line burst was.
