Beyond normal-type stuff, I had a similar experience as part of a problem with my EGR valve. For whatever reason, my CC would either not engage, or disengage while driving. When I replaced it, the CC issue went away, too. I was fully expecting to have to sink $ in to it as a seperate issue but happily it'* been great ever since. Does you car ever hesitate on the interstate at cruising speeds?

i dont really know, i dont ever recall it hesitating at interstate speeds, but then again I doubt i'd be paying enough attention to notice it either...
how much did it cost to fix the EGR problem?
