Nice going, Bigfoot. Thanks for reporting how it all turned out. Glad to hear that you were pleased with the APN kit. I think you will have a good shot at that 300K goal now!

Thx, Bill.

The engine really seems strong. Cleaning the fuel injectors really smoothed it out too.

We have a shop here in Indy that uses an ultrasound techinique to clean them. He said one of mine was only capable of outputting 60% of the needed volume, and the others were all at 90% or less. He brought them all up to spec for $150, which I hear is a good price.

I really enjoy driving it again.

I still have a tranny issue in that the TCC won't stay locked above 2000 rpm. I believe that is also causing the OD to not engage. My guess is the valve body needs to be replaced but that is a bit out of my league. Not sure what to do at this point. I might take it in to Aamco???

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but I cant find any mention of this APN upper intake manifold kit anywhere for sale on the interweb. Anyone have a link of where to buy??

Thanks!

Geez, I just spent the last 10 minutes trying to find it myself. This part is hard to track down...

GM Intake Manifold Kit

APN ID#: 17806

Funny, it says it has everything you need except for the throttle body gasket.

If you have any more questions, feel free to start a new thread in the 92-99 section.

the dorman kit is on rock auto for like 67. Dorman pn 615-180 is the manifold, comes with the gaskets preinstalled, pcv and injector o-rings but not the upper ones so autozone had a oring multipack

It was a simple solution to prevent hot egr gasses from cracking the plastic manifold. The other option is to block the coolant ports on the LIM.
