You're going to have to start pulling fuses a couple at a time. You'll want to start in the main cockpit fuses first, but don't forget the other two fuse panels.

ok, here is a very easy way to check where the drain is coming from.
step 1) disconnect the + battery teminal. step 2) take a 12 volt test light and connect it between the + battery terminal on the battery and the terminal end. step 3) if there is a drain, the test light will light bright,make sure the key is off and the doors are closed. step 4) if it is lit bright, start pulling fuses and relays one by one and reinstalling them if the light doesnt change.(to do this, you will need to tape or hold the door jamb switch closed so the dome lights dont give you a false reading. step 5) once the light goes out, you have to check the circuit that the fuse or relay leads to. this will narrow down the drain a ton by giving you a specific area to start look towards. { sometimes the light will light very dim due to the memory retension of the cars computers and radio, but not bright. if it does just light dim, open the door and see if it lights bright when the door is open. |

Not sure if this applies to your situation, but your battery should have a minimum 770 cca. The senior tech at my local pontiac dealer confirmed this. When my wife took in my car a year ago to pep boys to have them install a battery, they only put in a 700cca. I just had it changed out for a 900cca.
For the parasitic drain test, the first 10 minutes after shutting the engine off will give you a faulty reading because the car lets you roll up and down your windows and other things that consume power. After 10 minutes, mine goes to 10 milliamps. |
