Default Programming Keyless Entry FOB on a 1993 Bonneville SSE..help

I have a 1993 Bonneville SSE Supercharged. I recently lost my one and only remote for the keyless entry. I have a spare set of keys but when I open a door, even if I used the key to unlock it or if it was already unlocked, the alarm goes off. I bought a replacement remote on eBay and have been trying to program it. I followed the direction in the techinfo section, bridging the two points on the DLC, but the car never "clunked" the locks. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, do the keys need to be in the ignition, doors closed, anything... At this point I would be happy disabling the horn of the VATS altogether just so I can drive it. Right now, it goes off when I get in, after driving, it goes off when I get out, it basiclly goes off any time a door is opened. Please help, any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Chris

Make sure your ALDL connector isn't installed backwards. By that, I mean rotated 180°. If it is, you may be jumpering the wrong contacts.

only three of the corners have pins that i can jumper. so i just bridged the two opposite corners that had pins. i think on the whole connector there are only about 8 pins that actually have connectors. still trying... thanks
