I now know the check engine light works. Just came on, wasn't doing anything exciting.
Cenex wants $50, local mech wants $20. Walmart sell a 2 reader/resetter for $100. Or wait till tomorrow.
Car seems to run fine.

97. Autozone, what'* that? We live in the sticks. There isn't an Autozone around here for 90 miles. The light went out now. Will the code still be in there tomorrow?

for any year of bonneville, if these is a code it will be stored in the ECM / PCM even if the SES light goes out...
Most autoparts stores like Autozone, Advance and the like will read the codes for free.... Some can scan the car others can't...
But make sure you know what the code is before you have the code/* erased...
Good Luck

Got the code, well sort of. Forgot it. Gordy has to email the scan readout. Fun time at MAG
P0336 sounds familiar, but could the crank pos sensor throw an error but still work?
Confirmed, P0336
