DRIVING LIGHTS - CONFUSSED
Ok, after reading a bunch of posts on the site -
Alot of people are just replacing the stock driving lights with aftermarket, so I assumed the units are sealed - not bulbed.
Whici is it?
If they have replacable bulbs do the units have to be removed or is it a simple in/out swap of the bulb itself.

stock fog lights - wide short beam
aftermarket driving lights - long narrow beam
can replace bulbs in both.
from what i've found........fog lights are only good in FOG.....which i barely ever drive in. driving lights are great all around (well except for fog because most likely you will get a glare just like high beams)
i never could tell when i turned my stock fogs on if they were actually going on. now with my aftermarket driving lights..........you could practically drive with just them on at night.

So in the foglights, swapping the bulb alone will give you more-powerful fogs, or you can pitch the whole assembly and put in driving lamps instead. (The lens and reflector design is what determines whether it'* a foglamp or a driving lamp; changing the bulb alone won't change its function.)

Driving lamps shoot a "pencil" beam out. It'* low and very far. They'll work well in fog, they saved my *** along with smellbird when the snow crashed down during the trip to Toronto. Best $60 i've spent on the car yet.
We replace them because they have new glass housings i nstead of the plastic lenses found on stock ones. THey don't pit as easy, have better or different beam patterns.
They are all bulb replaceable, and the Hella'* are DAMN BRIGHT

Hey guys, I know you guys have probably answered this 100 times....but where did you purchase the lights and which ones did you get? I heard something about a Wal Mart one that were good (scary that I say that!)....I'd rather not splice any factory harnesses if possible.

i have also bought 2 different types of navigator cyberwhites from walmart.
with all of them, they suppliy wiring. you don't have to splice into the stock wiring

I got the Navigator Cyberwhites from Walmart. They are fog type light that is exelent. They cast a nice wide bright white beam that compliments the headlights very well. Here in NYS seeing the shoulders of the road is just as important as the road itself, damn deer!
They were $40 and took about 1 hr to install in the snow, start to finish. I used the supplied harness, taping into the factory harness for the 'turn on' signal from the fogs.

I had an idea that J.C. Whitney was cheaper, but no, they want $59.99 for the things, plus $10.99 shipping.
Are there any chain-store retailers selling these over-the-counter?
