Hey everyone have another problem on the Bonnie. I believe the ac feon is low, because the compressor clutch engades and disengades like there is not enough in the system to keep it engaded. Just wondering if anyone knows the capacity of freon in a 1995 Bonneville and what the high and low side pressure normal ranges are. I know it goes by ambient tempature but i cant see to find my pressure charts around the house. Thanks again.

the sticker under the hood of my 99 says 2 pounds. not sure on 95

The compressor kickes on and off. I put a crappy guage on it and the compressor kicks on around 45 and the shuts off. When the compressor kicks on the guage drops to about 25. This leads me to belive i have low freon. But took it to a mechaninc and he said he put exactlly 2 lbs of freon it and that i have a clog and need a complete ac overhaul for $1500 dollars.

there is a filter in the ac out buy the condenser . if its plugged the could cause it. but if thats pluged might be full of metal from compressor . might have somebody else check it out to .

Is that the orifice tube, if so can someone post a pic of where it is located. Tried searching forums and the one post that had a pic had a x on it. Also in order to change it i need to evacuate the system then do it correct? Thanks.

the freon needs to be takin back out . pretty sure its the bottom line from the condenser

Its has a big nut right...looks like its all metal tubing....

yes but you need two wrenches to take it apart so you dont twist the line off . its the line from the dryer going to the condenser

Orfice tube located in lower line on condensor. You will need needle nose pliers or the proper tool to remove the orfice tube from the line.
Replace your reciever drier also while you have the system opened.

Well finally got around to fixing this. I had the Freon taken out and then removed the line with the orifice tube. Well when i removed the line i found my problem. Then line was all clogged up. There was no way anyhting was flowing. So i cleaned up the line removed old orifice tube and installed new one. Took it to local place to have vacumm pulled and fill with 2 pounds of Freon. All is working great now. AC is cold and working as advertised. Thanks everyone for the help.
