I was noticing a low-load miss on my 94 SE. It was noticable when pulling away from a stop with light throttle( OK, I realize most of you probably never do this!) and also when cruising in overdrive with light throttle). It was really noticable when the cruise control was on and in overdrive- causing some shaking. Thought about plug wires, had already replaced plugs, check engine light was not coming on. I was getting ready to buy plugs at my local Advance Auto when the counter guy suggested I check the resistance on the Throttle Position sensor since the problem was occuring when the throttle was in approximately the same position. I went back home, hooked up my digital mutlimeter to the TPS and moved the arm on the sensor to see what it did. Sure enough, I was getting a non-linear reading as I moved it off the idle position. The resistance would start to go down, then jump up and then move down again as I simulated opening up the throttle.
Put a new TPS in and it works great (these are a pain to remove without taking off the whole throttle body and upper intake). Removing the upper radiator hose gave me a little more room to work.
