Cleaning a O2 sensor?

I have a feeling my o2 sensor is starting to give up, any way to clean it?
i know your first respond is going to be "replace it" but this thing is freaking expensive....

I've never heard of any way to clean them.

Sorry to say. I guess one of these days I should cut one open and see what is behind it's little shield.

Go to rockauto I believe it's like $40 or so.

Replace it. Your engine will thank you!

If you did a Google search on "cleaning O2 sensor" you can find some suggestions to do so, however; none of the suggestions include any success stories. IMO...replace it.

How many do 96-up OBDII cars have? One infront and one behind the cat?

Danthurs 05-23-2009 09:11 AM

Two O2 sensors
