Default 94 Pontiac Bonneville rolls but wont start (sometimes)

Im back again I really hate this car. We are looking into getting another vehicle right now. But I am curious if we should even mess with this car any more.

Here is the scoop we have did SO much to this car in 2.5 years we have put more money into it then we have paid for it. This is everything that has been down in the last 1.5 years ...

New cat convertor

Radiator

fuel pump x3

fuel sending unit

throttle position sensor

EGR valve gasket x3

vapor canister

intake manifold

battery cables

spark plugs/wires

water pump

I think that might be it there was also a sensor but I forget which one.. Friday Feb 27th my husband took it to work got gas then in the morning when he was going to come home he started it let it warm up about 5 minutes. He went to back out when all of a sudden he heard a big clunk clanging noise come from the back passenger side of the car. So we call a tow truck worse thing about having a broke down ride. Is having a broke down ride not in your drive way. So the tow truck brings it home and what would you know the car cranks right up.

Well I didnt want to drive it so I made my husband drive it and take me to get some stp gas treatment we thought maybe water in the tank. We live in west tennessee and we was having alot of rain. Well runs fine get home put it in leave the car running for awhile all seems to be fine. Go out that night car starts fine. Next morning car starts then again shuts down. It will roll but will not start. We say to heck with it. It has been sitting since then. Well I decided to try to start it so I go out there and it cranks up. I let it run for about 20 minutes I shut it off come in the house go back out it cranks every time. I am letting run about 10 minutes then shutting down and restarting. Well about an hour or so later after I have it running for a bit it dies out and now wont start rolls but wont start. The gauge where it shows hot is usually between 100 and 200 now I noticed its right on 200 and it smells like its getting way to hot. But they radiator fans are coming on and there is antifreeze in it and I cant see it over heating like. But it smells very hot. Any ideas?

What do you actually mean when you say it "rolls but wont start"? what does "rolls" mean to you?

And the noise in the right rear could have been something totally different than the motor issue. You said your husband described it as "big clunk clanging noise" that to me would be suspension breaking.

I want to help but first need to understand your thinking and use of descriptive words

Thanks

Todd
