Default 96 SSEI radio display

hi all:

I'm new to this forum and have read a few postings about radios. i thought my radio display was blown cause i couldn't see it but after reading some posts i took a flashlight out to my radio, and oh my god, there is was, i could see the the time and channel it was on. now the one thing i haven't seen here is a way to fix it or do i have to just buy a new one
