Chirping noise while moving, not the blower fan

Two days ago my 1992 SSE (over 213,000 miles) started making a small chirping noise, just like what I've heard in other cars when the blower fan bearing starts going bad. I assumed the same thing was at work this time. Then I turned off the fan -- and the noise remained.

It only happens when the car is moving, but does not appear to be directly related to the speed of the car or the engine revs. It will not happen when revving the engine at a stop, either in Park or in Drive while holding the brake.

From the driver's seat, the sound appears to be coming from the left side of the car, until while braking the car is nearly stopped, when the noise sounds like it moves to the right side of the car for the last few seconds the car is moving.

Yesterday the sound became more frequent. It's bad enough that I didn't drive it today.

Pop the hood, grab those cooling fans and rotate them a little. Does it do it then?

the elusive chirp. I'll give you one that I found. the hood latch. yup, you read that right. I thought it was coming from the passenger side, the passenger thought it was coming from the drivers side.

Yep....I had the same thing on mine. Wrap some electrical tape around it and see if the noise goes away. Also, try unplugging the blower fan as sometimes even shutting it off it will still run slowly.
