Question just had turn signal switch installed and-

the mechanic said when he took the hornpad off the horn button was cracked in 2 so i was told it needed to be replaced.just wondering if it could of been something he did while taking it apart so everything cost me more than expected 2day and wife wasn't real happy 97 white bonneville se
