Let's hit a quick review. Follow the hose from the top d/s of radiator to the engine. Where it connects is the waterneck (aka t stat housing). On that housing are two 10mm bolts. When you try and turn them COUNTER clock wise, you are breaking sockets. Where in Kansas are you? There may be another member close that can assist. Let's call in backup! Good morning Bill  |
I still can't believe that those little 10 mm head bolts are causing sockets to snap. LOL.
Sorry for the triple/quadruple posting! |

SUCESS!!! Rotten day turned great after 7:30pm...My bonne weighed in a 3400 lbs on a truck scale and I finally got my thermostat changed. I had to go to sears and get an impound socket to get the bolts loose but they finally gave up completely. Thanks for all the help everyone. :D

About damn time....LOL
Becareful when you tighten them up...I cracked my T-stat housing once from overtightening....LOL I'm a dumbass hehe |
lol, dude after the aggravation I had with this damn thing I will not be goin to crazy tighting it. I feel like I became a real man after all this; tested my strength, patience, mental stability.
but like I said I have to thank all you guys, all the advice that I got worked to get this done when I put it all together. Longer wrench, impound socket, some lube and a hot engine. Unfortunately I dont think these bolts would have came out when the engine cold. Im just glad I didnt break the bolts off! :D |
