No, you can't just bolt it on. You need a new twin-path harmonic balancer, engine accessory brackets, wiring harness, PCM, transmission, and some internal engine parts. Even the pistons, rods, and Camshaft are different.

The Series 1 L67 is a much different beast than the L27 in your car.

The most cost-effective method is to sell your SSE and buy an SSEi outright.
Next would be a full drivetrain swap including wiring harness, PCM, engine, and trans.
Last would be what you propose.

Excerpts from a Bonneville sales brochure:

L27 (your engine):
light-weight pistons
L67:
Specific high-flow injectors
electronic bypass valve
special duty connecting reods
high-silicone alloy pistons
floating wrist pins
forged steel cam
And that doesn't even BEGIN to touch on all the other differences like transaxle, gear ratio, engine mounts, etc.

If you're going to do a transplant, make it a full swap. www.L67swap.com will help a ton.

On the neons, you may want to talk to 1993 SLE. I've now seen the spaceship and it'* neon power.

If you wanted to go though that work. I would swap in a series II supercharged rather then convert series I to supercharged. Plus I beleve a supercharge series I prodouce about 205 hp.A super supercharge series II I think produce about 230-245hp.Their is more mod potetion in series Ii.But if was me I would just go out buy supercharge bonneville though. I have seen 96 supercharged bonneville around gr go for 2000 about 4500. You could looking into adding turbo, but of course anytime you add more power I would worry about the tranny I though only supercharge bonneville have hd tranny.
