Car Takes A Long Time To Start Up

Hey guys. I started having this problem about three months ago, shortly before my intake manifold went the way of the dodo bird. When I go to start the car, it turns over for about three seconds before "catching" and starting up. First thing in the morning it starts fine, but all throughout the day it takes a long time to start up. Someone once mentioned it might be the flowback valve in my fuel pump, which I've replaced..about five months ago.

Any ideas?

Put a fuel pressure gage on the car and see if you drop pressure...

Possible bad Fuel Pressure regulator

Especially the FPR if you smell gas if you have your climate control in use.

99 did have a recall on the FPR. Pull the vacume hose off the regulator and see if you smell gas.
