Do not use any WD-40...
Take the belt off, and spin all the pulleys by hand. Listen for any noise and feel for any play in the bearings. That should get you started, and should turn up some results.

check to see if is a tensioner pulley bearing is going out. i was hearing a sound like that from the same area, and last monday on my way home i heard a loud squeal, and check engine light came on. the bearing in the tensioner pulley on the accessory belt went out and the plastic pulley melted, and flew off, shredding my accessory belt leaving me with no power steering or waterpump. just something that my be the problem. you don;t want to end up with a broken car if you can avoid it.

..
assuming that you are just replacing the pulley, and not the entire tensioner assembly.... it should just be a left-hand thread on the bolt.
You put a socket on it, and turn to the LEFT to release the tension and slip the belt off. Then turn the bolt to the RIGHT to loosen the pulley. I believe that there is some sort of washer behind the pulley that you do not want to lose..

I changed the belt a long time ago and ended up removing the motor mount to get a new one on. .....There has got to be a way to get a belt on without removing the motor mount...
Right??
Is there a techinfo on the belt removal and replacement?
