Default Transmission acting up?

I was driving home and I stopped in a reststop. I came to the stop sign (no merge lane) and when the coast was clear, I gave it some aggressive but not WOT push, the RPMS went up to about 3500-4500 but the acceleration didn't quite match the momentum, it almost felt like the tires was spinning but it wasn't. This has happened before, maybe three or four times, and all was when turning and giving it some gas.

I did a straight WOT run, it spun the tires good and shifted fine (doesn't shift as firm like before, not sure if I'm 100% on that)

Trans fluid was dropped 15,xxx miles ago. Checked it today, has some metallic residue on the dipstick then redipped it, no metallic residue (was the first time I pulled it out after doing the fluid change) color was red (not new ATF red but still redish)

Car has 130,000 miles and a INTENSE PCM.

Possibly pressure solenoid going? How fun.

Thats what my 98 would do all the time, and I would have to let off completely, and then go again...and it would SOMETIMES fix it momentarily. And that car only had 95k.

I suggest a trans flush and filter change before even ASKING about anything else. If the fluid isn't bright red...especially if there is anything metallic going on, you dont want it to stay in there.

Uhh..ok

Did some looking around. Seems like it could be a case of fluid starvation during a turn. I added a bit more to ensure it has fluid in turns. ATF is nice and red, I suspect the first pull of the trans stick resulting in metallic residue on the stick was from the fact that I never rechecked it after getting hte lievel right from when I did the ATF change 15,000 miles ago.

Trans goes through all gears and shifts just fine. Whew.

Mine did that to..before it went. Then it started slamming into gears all the time.
Then came the metal in the fluid.
Chances are, your trans was just low on fluid. Normally a solienoid issue will toss a SES light.
