Car dies from time to time.
 

I have a somewhat small intermittent issue I can't figure out. When pulling away from a stop, I will take off in the normal fashion, and the car will kick, buck, and die. I then have to stop, crank it over many times and, all of a sudden, it springs to life and drives fine. There is no timeframe. It can happen when the car is hot or cold after hours of driving or just a few minutes. My thought is it may be a partially clogged converter. Any thoughts?

When my 92 did this it was a flaky ignition module. Just a suggestion to get you started.

more than likely an electrical issue with the crank sensor going out or a bad ICM or connector. Did you pull the codes?

Almost sounds like the coils / ICM :?

How do your battery cables look? You might need to clean them

I had a problem with the crank sensor originally when I rebuilt the engine, but I got that resolved and have not had an issue since. My cables look good and all connections are tight. I have a new optima battery that works perfect. It could be the coils, but I always thought that would be more constant and drag on gas mileage. With such inconsistancy is it possible to check the coils?
