Can't get the blower motor out!

The blower motor on my 95 SE has gone bad. I bought a new one, but can't get the old one out. Well, actually I could get it out but I'd never get the new one in without breaking it.

Because it is Series II it has that big fuel harness brace which is right in the way. I can ALMOST get the motor/fan assy out of the hole but not enough to remove it.

In the process I think I cracked one of the fuel lines and I heard a teenee vacuum line go as well. Just great!

I noticed some writing on the firewall to the right of the motor. It says "To remove motor cut here". So I tried, but it did not seem to make removal any easier.

Im not sure this applys for Bonne's but (it worked on my 86 buick park ave) if you remove your windshield wipers(the whole arm assembly), then the large plastic cover that surrounds the bottom part of the windshield under the wipers, there should be an acsess hole of some sort...there is a small bolt on the end of the fan that holds it snugly to the motor, im not to sure on what size it is, remove it and pull on the fan its self, once it comes off the motor will slip out easily and do the reverse for installing the new fan and motor.

umm i missed the part about possibly craking a fuel line....im sure you know that it is very dangerous to run a vehical with a leaking fuel system befor starting the car i highly recomend you make sure 100% that nothing is wrong with any fuel lines.

You can get it out by putting the car on stands, on the body, not the engine craddle. With pressure on the craddle, remove the front bolts of the craddle, then SLOWLY lower the jack. The motor will tilt forward and give you some more room. Hope this helps.

That sounds like the same writing that's molded into the evaporator/heater core housing cover (not the firewall) on my '93. In actual fact it's wrong anyway, since the cover is not installed over the blower motor; the motor is installed over the cover.
