Default Oil pressure question

I have a 95 Bonneville SLE. Upper Intake is sleeved, is not leaking, antifreeze is right where it was, slight oil leak from head gasket.

My pressure i have noticed at idle with the car fully warmed up like hitting the point where the blower fans come on for the radiator, the pressure is around 20-30 at idle, 40 at running around 2,000rpm+

Is this ok or should I check something?
I want to go out soon so a reply ASAP would be great

Your oil pressure is just fine. Your leak that you think is from the head gasket very likely is the LIM end seals. They leak with age around the corner where the LIM, head, and block meet. This is a non-pressure 'balance shaft splash' leak.

Be aware that if your car ever DID have an UIM failure in the past, long-term damage may have already occurred. Keep an eye on your coolant level and oil pressure. Seriously consider replacing your LIM gaskets with the new aluminum framed design, and getting the DEXcool out of the car forever.

I know this is gonna throw you, and i'm sorry lol...I have brand new UIM/LIM gaskets, new thermostat, and a bunch of other work done. After all that there was still some oil leak, but VERY faint, we had taken the car up on the lift and i saw myself that it was the head gasket...My mechanic told me this too. And thank you for the oil pressure reassurance, I wasn't positive but thought it was ok, and called my mechanic also and he said it was good.

Thank you!!!

Hi I'm new and just getting familiar with my car and motor. My oil pressure starts out at about 60, seems to edge down to 50 when warmed up, sits around 40 most of the time at a light but occasionally edges down to 30psi. Is the degree of fluctuation normal? It looks like the oil change company may have over filled the motor by at least 1/2 quart. I get a check oil light for about 5 seconds shortly after starting the car. I live in Wisconsin so it'* been cold out. 3.8 II

Thanks, sorry for the hyjack.

Your oil pressure is a-ok (I learned this myself)..and the check engine oil light does come on and stay on longer than the other lights during initial startup, if it stays on for a while THEN you have an issue, as long as it goes off after those few seconds, you are fine.
