Default Mobil 1

HI all! I just switched to synthetic motor oil [mobil one] i know ur supposed to change ur oil every 3000 miles with regular oil.....but can i extend my interval a bit with synthetic...but still change every 3 months....i do a lot of highway driving.....3000 miles comes around pretty quickly....my mileage has gone up a few miles per gallon since the switch.....

I change mine at 5000 miles. Successful tests have shown that 10000 mile intervals come out cleaner than 3000 mile conventional oil.

If you do this, run the highest quality oil filter you can. There are alot of posts here regarding oil filters. Use search to find them.

I run a K&N oil filter on mine.

I have used Mobil 1 in every 4-stroke engine I own.
My 1988 Riv. has 273000 miles with no engine trouble what so ever.
I change the oil at 10000 miles and I use a Mobil 1 filter.
This car also uses Mobil 1 ATF now I know some people don’t think you should use the ATF but 273000 miles and it is still working. There is a synthetic oil study on the web and the guy goes 18000 miles before the oil test show it needed to be changed.

He is now testing Amsoil check it out very informative.
