Default CEL Problem on 96 SSE

Ive got a Check Engine Light Gremlin in my 96 Bonneville SSE. I scanned the codes and came up with a #1 O2 sensor Low Activity, an EGR Pintle Code, and a Misfire code. I replaced the EGR valve and both O2 sensors. The problem is occassionally at a stop the car will have a large hiccup. The idle will drop and almost stall, then it will straighten out and idle fine. The CEL is still there even after I dissconnected the battery and it still has the hiccup even after I replaced the EGR and O2 sensors. Any ideas? Thanks!

It will fluctuate slightly between 1200 and 500 RPMS and it will sometimes drop below 500. It has stalled a couple of times. The car has 94000 miles on it and iv kept up with the maintenance very well since we bought it in 97.

Hmm, well if you dont have any more SES liights, are you able to get it scanned for stored codes? You think it could maybe be the Throttle position sensor?

Thats the problem, I still have the Check Engine Light. Its just a pain for me to check the codes b/c the shop I go to is always closed when I get out of work. You think the TPS could be the problem?

I am in western PA and have a OBD2 scanner, but thats a little far away from ya. Um, without really getting the code read again and make sure, then I wouldnt spend money on anything you dont need. The sensor is a few dollars I believe, so if you want to try it just for giggles.

Heres an update on the situation. I havent had a chance to scan the codes. But driving home earlier today the car stalled on my 3 times. It started running rough, and as soon as I hit the gas it stalled out. The funniest part is after it stalled out the Check Engine Light went out! The only light that came on was the Check Gauges Light which came on right before it stalled out. Any other ideas b/c this is driving me nuts! Thanks!

Autozones carry the Actron line of electronic diagnostics equipment. A new store-stocked item at Autozone is the Actron "handheld" OBDII scanner. It'* $79.99 and will allow you to pull and clear codes. It'* definitely a worthwhile investment, and it will be much quicker and more accurate than asking people to guess at what your computer is trying to tell you.

Autozone will scan for free, and should be open when you get off work. Check for current codes, and we'll go from there.
