Brighter backup bulbs

Does anyone make better, brighter backup bulbs that are safe to use? The bulb number is 1141 or 1156. Are LEDs ok to use?

you can use LED's if you want

Rob, have you used them? I'm looking for something brighter.

sure, I have used lots of LED's in my past

I have no done anything with reverse lights because I have no need for them at the moment (not tint or tinted tails)

You could wire in some low profile driving lights with a relay that was controlled by the reverse lights just ubder the rear bumper. I had to do this for my truck some tme ago (did alot of backing up in the dark) and it works great.

Just a suggetion.

That's a good thread. What about venting. Can the housing be vented so you could use a brighter bulb or an LED setup?

could, but remeber the housing for the reverse lights sits on the outside of the trunk seal and is indirectly exposed to weather. So you have to plan WAY ahead.

Hello everyone. My name is Bill. I've had Halogen Backups in my car for 3 years. Click on my Mod List in my signature.

250% brighter than stock, and it comes in handy with my tinted windows at night.
