Brake pedal gives off whistling noise and high speed crackin

Hi i have a 98 pontiac bonneville SE and when i press the brake pedal, there is a loud annoying whisltning noise coming from the INSIDE of the car, not outside..

I went to my mechanic, he doesnt know what it is, so i am posting here because you guys know everything.

Second problem is when I am going around 60-70 and press the pedal to speed up, there is a cracking noise coming from the engine and the car barely speeds up...like its trying so hard, Check Engine light is on.

in the past 2 months i replaced the generator, some cylendar sensor, one of the cyleders( the circly things ) full tune up.. new battery, wanted to replace o2 sensor because car started shaking like crazy one day but he just cleaned it and said its perfectly fine, wierd.

So what could it be guys, my mechanic keeps guessing at the problems and im not sure what to do because i kinda like the car.

Post your location in your Profile, and your Year and trim level (98 SE) in your sig, then go get the car scanned and let us know what codes are found.

Autozone or Advanced Auto (or even maybe Napa) will do it for free.

Really free?

What do i ask at Autozone, i have one near by

Ask them to scan for codes. That's the first thing you do when you have an SES (service engine soon, or check engine) light.

I have a 93 and with my break pedal i get a creek when I press on it. The sound has been like that ever since the car was new

its not only when i press it

Once you press it the whistling does not stop until you let go, so annoying.

Could the whistling noise be a leaking brake booster? Thoughts anybody?

As for the misfire, if you've done a full tune-up (plugs and wires), don't rule out the possibilty of a bad coil, bad ignition module, or a possible fuel injector issue.

i did the fuel injector recall thing at the dealer.

I was going to do this $99 diagnostic to find the engine problems... but since you guys say i can go to autozone i will do that tomorow.

Misfire? isnt that when the engine doesnt start.

It makes rattling noises when going fast.

k well i got it scanned

THe code was PO336 Crankshaft Position Sensor.

So i call my mechanic and he said he already replaced that part and obviously its not the problem..

I noticed something with the brakes, does sound like a leak.

When you press the pedal it whistles, and when you touch the air condition knobs it alters the whistling so something is up

Sounds like it could be a vacum leak? Check the vacum hose going to the master cylinder.
