Double check the motor mounts, oil pan, and oil filter bracket.

Don't double check.

Change:
Rear exhaust manifold
Alternator tensioner bracket (and coolant elbows while you are there)
Oil pan you could probably use, once you swap the oil filter adapter. I like the alumimun pans personally. If you swap the pan, make sure you swap the oil pick up tube.
Coil pack bracket
You can remove the dogbone bracket from the drivers end of the front head. Yes the coolant sensor must be removed to remove the bracket.
Upper intake manifold and throttle body

Typically we'd suggest changing the flex plate, because Bonnevilles had a 258mm torque converter and W body cars (05 GP) had a 245mm flex. However on this S3 motor you should notice that the flex is double drilled for either size converter. Check that and there should be no need to replace it.

IIRC all L67 w-bodies had the 258mm torque converter, and all non-L67 w-bodies had the 245mm torque converter. I know this because I'm getting an engine swap done in my 95 Regal with an 01 L67. I bought an 03 4T65E from a Century (3100) (along with an HD diff and other HD swap parts from someone else), and it has a 245mm torque converter, while the flexplate on the L67 has a 258mm torque converter. I ended up switching out the flexplate with an L36 flexplate to make the torque converter work.

Another note, there were some non-L67 w-bodies that also got the 258mm torque converter, but I don't recall exactly which those were.

God I wish I could edit messages. This is quite annoying.

Another thing I thought of, is the statement I made above pertains to 2nd gen w-bodies. I can't verify the torque converter size on 3rd gen w-bodies. Is it different?

If you think about it as S2 and S3 it'* much simpler. Yes, W bodies had both 245 and 258, which is the point I'm making. H bodies had 258 most of the time, there could have been some exceptions. However since his new engine will have a flex that is double drilled from the factory... it'* a non-issue as long as he ensures it has that double drilled flex. Which was the point I aimed to make.

The other thing here is we don't even know if he'* 36 or 67 to start with IIRC.... he hasn't said?

Right, I missed that.

Can one use an S3 flexplate on an S2 L67? Just out of curiosity.
