Brake caliper slider grease?
 

Looking for GM slider grease part # or best after market brake grease.

Hit your local parts store..get some nice synthetic caliper lube and grease...

Don't need to spend the money on the GM stuff...it'll be close or better being synthetic

I use Permatex Ultra Disc Brake Caliper Lube ( Synthetic ) PN# 24110

JR what is the color of the Permatex # 24110 grease?

I was surprised at how little i knew about brake pin, caliper, slider, and etc brake grease. All I really knew was that all GM brake rubber is supposed to be Ethylene Propylene and that it requires non mineral oil grease. It is safe to use silicone paste, like used in plug wire boots, with Ethylene Propylene but that has no load bearing strength.

The label on the bottle will be green, as will the grease... Its a dark looking green... Been using the stuff for a while... works for me... ;)

Doesn't the caliper come with the metallic grease, in a little package. As well as the lube for the lug nut, when u purchase them.

When I painted my calipers, and replace the hose brake... I hear a sound when I reverse and hit the brakes and the same foward... I wonder if I have to re apply the grease and lube, because I didn't.

Also, is that part # a GM, or other?

I'm unaware of a metallic grease.
Calipers would come with a version of the same grease we are discussing for slides etc. If you hear a sound it could be many things. Please start a seperate thread and describe your sound in detail including speed etc.

The number is a Permatex brand number. The grease is used to lube the surfaces that make contact in the operation of the brakes and the pins and slides within the system. If you did not use the grease, I doubt your noise is due to that fact.
